Construction Styles for Wood Countertops
FACE GRAIN CONSTRUCTION

Face Grain or (Plank Effect) construction consists of random widths of boards flat sliced to the required thickness.
EDGE GRAIN CONSTRUCTION

Edge grain construction consisting of multiple 3/4” – 7/8” thick material, cut to a desired width then placed on edge and glued together. This style produces a very durable and stable top.
END GRAIN CONSTRUCTION

End grain countertops are constructed with square or rectangular blocks arranged with the growth rings facing up. This style is generally used for heavy working surfaces.
